Our attorneys have broad knowledge of all aspects of co-op and condo law, have collectively more than 100 years of litigation experience and know how to think laterally to find creative solutions and develop winning strategies. Because we represent both landlords and tenants, individual home owners and developers, co-op and condo boards as well as individual shareholders and unit owners, we understand the merit and pitfalls on both sides of any issue which helps us to negotiate and litigate effectively for the benefit of our clients.
Our practice is concentrated in the areas of real estate, cooperatives, condominiums, complex commercial litigation, land use, tenant buyouts and internet litigation. Our extensive and varied litigation experience covers a wide range of commercial and corporate disputes, including resolution or litigation of disputes for control of partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies, disputes between adjacent landowners, neighboring apartment owners and apartment owners and their boards. We also have extensive expertise in zoning, land use and development rights issues; commercial and residential landlord/tenant matters, including Pullman actions, non-payment and holdover proceedings, succession rights issues, regulated housing issues including rent control, rent stabilization, City and State Mitchell-Lamas and Section 213 housing, and condominium liens and foreclosures. We are recognized as a firm that knows how to maximize recoveries in tenant buy-outs. The firm also acts as general counsel to numerous co-ops and condominiums, advising on corporate governance, transactional matters and negotiating contracts. Our experienced attorneys also represent buyers and sellers of real estate from contract to closing.
